Three expressions of light, held at the heart of Reiki Light. A hope to guide us through the unknown. A blessing to receive and pass on. A gentle beginning when we are ready to let the light in.
Beyond the archetype.
As a third culture kid, I grew up between worlds, carrying different ways of seeing within me. No single place or familiar archetype could quite hold the person I felt myself to be.
I learned to move like a chameleon, sensing what each new world expected and adjusting my colours to belong. It helped me find my way, but it was never the life I longed for. I wanted to be understood without having to disappear into my surroundings.
Reiki Light grew, in part, from that longing: to give expression to an inner world that resists easy definition. To find a kind of belonging where we can be seen in our own light.
Let there be light.
These words hold a quiet wonder for me: light arriving where there had been darkness, opening the possibility of life. I see light as a trace of the divine—a reminder that grace can find us even before we know how to ask for it.
Reiki Light carries three expressions of that light.
Blessing
A gift of divine grace in an ordinary moment. Something received with gratitude and carried forward through kindness, presence, and the care we offer one another.
Healing
Sometimes the beginning is simply allowing light into the places we have kept in shadow. A little room to breathe, to reflect, to become gentle with ourselves as we move towards wholeness.
We receive the light.
And, in our own small ways, become light for one another.
What words leave unsaid.
In 2023, I began imagining a different kind of gift: something that could express faith, encouragement and affection with the beauty of a contemporary object. Something to mark a birthday, a new beginning, or the simple joy of having someone in your life.
I found that possibility in fragrance: something unseen, yet deeply felt. It seemed a fitting language for grace, for memory, for the things that touch us beyond words. The scent of Shanghai’s white magnolia stayed with me—a memory of home that needed no explanation.
Scent can bring a distant place close. It can make an ordinary moment feel worth keeping. Through Reiki Light, I wanted to give those fleeting experiences a form: a bottle to hold, a fragrance to wear, a story to make your own.
The stories behind Reiki Light draw on faith, the wonder of the divine, and the tenderness of everyday life. They are offered openly, to people of every background. You may recognise their origins, or discover a meaning entirely your own. Both belong here.
A little beauty, carried forward.
My idea of beauty lives in the details: a softened line, colours in conversation, light resting on a curve. I am drawn to objects that feel thoughtful and alive, with enough quiet around them for their character to emerge.
“Be in light” echoes “be enlightened.” It is an invitation to receive light and live it: to offer hope, to carry a blessing, to bring warmth and goodness into the lives we touch. The smallest gesture can make the world around us a little brighter.
